Dungeon Siege II: Broken World introduces new additional features of the original game and access to two new character classes: the Blood Assassin and the Fist of Stone. The Blood Assassin class combines ranged and combat magic, focusing on blood sacrifices and offensive traps, while the Fist of Stone class combines melee and nature magic, focusing on defensive strategies and earthquake based attacks.

A new playable race is now available: The Dwarf, in addition to two new pets. Another new feature is the recipe feature, where you can now create unique or special items based on recipes. Besides the new monsters and items, there are also minor changes and improvements in gameplay as well as in graphics.
